FEATURES
Fluid Bed Dryer is the optimal method for controlled, gentle and uniform drying of wet solids. The intensive heat/mass exchange makes this method particularly effective and time-saving while ensuring good product quality. This technology is also suitable for post-drying of spray granulated or extruded products with very low residual moisture.
PROCESS
A fluid bed dryer is a machine in which a continuous flow of “wet” powder, granular or flake material is conveyed over a perforated bed. Hot drying air is blown through the holes of a perforated plate with a velocity greater than the settling rate of the particles. Thus, the wet solids are lifted from the bottom and suspended in the air stream, causing the solids to behave as a fluid. Due to the regular contact with the hot air, the material loses moisture. The air leaving the fluid bed dryer passes through a filter which collects the fine, already dried particles. The airflow is generated by the fan fitted on the top of the equipment. The airflow rate, the operating temperature and the frequency of shaking is adjustable with a PLC.
